Diverse geological structure composed mainly of gravel and clay with a layer of marl usually covering the lower layers. The vineyards are spread over the finest winegrowing sites in the hills around the town of Ptuj. Grapes are cultivated in an environmentally friendly manner, the so called integrated cultivation, under the careful supervision of the agronomic counselling service and the oenologists of the Ptuj Wine Cellar. The vines are trained in the double »guyot« pruning.
Year 2015 has been marked by a lot of heat and sunshine hours during the ripening of the grapes, which has allowed the creation of beautiful, rounded, harmonious wines with ripe varietal aromatics specific to each variety. Harvest, on average, started quite early, at the beginning of September, which is also a reflection of the warm year, but the heat continued until the end of September, which is extremely important and desirable for the proper ripening of red varieties and achieving phenolic ripeness of the grapes, which is extremely important for the variety like Blaufränkisch.
Wine is made from previously selected grapes of only certain positions in Central Slovenske gorice hills that have the best habitat for Blaufränkisch. Optimally ripe and overripe grapes continued their way through the 8 day maceration, the typical technology of red wines, after the completion of maceration, we continued with lactic acid fermentation, which moderates acids in the wine and makes them more harmonious. Next, the wine matured for 12 months on the lees in tanks of stainless steel and used barrique barrels.
